ARIES: when product quality and service create lasting partnerships
When reliability becomes the standard
In plastics processing, even short interruptions or unstable process temperatures can result in rejected parts, lost productivity and increased operating costs. For this Italian plastics manufacturer, the priority was clear: achieve reliable, stable cooling while reducing operational risks. The result was not a single equipment replacement, but the gradual transformation of the entire process cooling system into a fully MTA-based installation.
 
The challenge
The customer, operating in the plastic injection moulding industry, required reliable cooling for two critical process applications:
- mould cooling with water temperatures between 12°C and 7°C
- hydraulic oil cooling for injection presses at 25°C  
Over time, recurring reliability and service issues highlighted the need for a more dependable long-term solution, compared to the previous one. 
 
The solution
To complete the plant modernization, MTA supplied an ARIES G air-cooled process chiller specifically engineered for demanding industrial process cooling applications.
The unit delivers 295 kW of cooling capacity under design conditions (13/18°C water temperature, +40°C ambient air) and features integrated heat recovery, capable of recovering up to 342 kW of thermal energy with hot water at 55°C. This enables the customer to improve overall plant energy efficiency while maintaining reliable cooling performance.  
The system provides chilled water at 12/7°C for mould cooling and maintains the hydraulic oil circuits of the injection moulding machines at 25°C, ensuring stable process temperatures throughout the production cycle. These operating conditions are essential for consistent product quality, repeatable cycle times and uninterrupted manufacturing.  
Part of MTA’s premium industrial process cooling portfolio, the ARIES G range covers cooling capacities from 160 to 858 kW and combines high-efficiency scroll compressors with a shell-and-tube evaporator, a design specifically selected for its robustness, high reliability and long service life in demanding industrial environments.
