Al Ghurair Giga Gold Refinery was established in 2003 as a joint venture between the Al Ghurair Group and the Giga Group.

The refinery was setup at an approximate cost of USD 30 million and islocated at the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC).

Al Ghurair Giga Gold Refinery is the first gold refinery to start its operation in DMCC and attained ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001 certification in September 2004.

Furthermore Al Ghurair Giga Gold Refinery (GGG) has been awarded the prestigious Dubai Good Delivery Accreditation following a rigorous approval process by the DMCC Physical Committee.

The Dubai Good Delivery accreditation recognises industry best practice and quality standards which GGG has exceeded in recent months.

Under the helm of new general manager Corey Keller, GGG has gone from strength to strength: new technology has been implemented and a capital equipment program approved with capacity now expected to increase beyond 450 kg of fine gold per day.

The High Efficiency (HE) version of the Phoenix Plus is particularly suitable in the installation where the aim is to increase both nominal and seasonal index efficiency or to work at full load with temperature higher than the usual.

Thanks to the “unloading” function, standard on Phoenix Plus, the units can operate, at partial load and without any interruption, even in extreme external ambient conditions beyond those at which the majority of the chillers can operate.
